National University of La Matanza - UNLaM

About Us:

It was through Law 23,748 of 1989, enacted on October 23 of that same year, that the National University of La Matanza (UNLaM) was created. It is a Public University in the suburban area of Buenos Aires, specifically in the town of San Justo, La Matanza, Argentina.

Since its foundation, the UNLaM has grown exponentially in these decades, reaching a student body of more than 60,000 students distributed in the 5 Departments that compose it.

With a faculty of more than 3,500 people and an academic offer of more than 60 undergraduate and graduate courses, UNLaM has become a true social transformer of its community, with one of the highest graduation rates in the country, 89% of whom are first generation professionals in their families.

The University has been growing steadily over the years, adapting to the needs of its community, expanding its classrooms, building practice spaces for students, such as the 2,100 m2 technology center, the clinical simulation room, the sports field with countless facilities such as a semi-Olympic swimming pool and an athletics track, or the courtroom. In turn, throughout these years it has been linked to universities and organizations from different continents, with a growing participation of its students and graduates in various international programs.

In this way,the UNLaM has become one of the most important universities in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, betting on excellence in education and positively transforming the environment in which it is immersed.
